The hunt for points in the 2018 Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) series moves to Mombasa for this year’s Coast Open, at the nine-hole Mombasa Golf Club course, along the sea-side Mama Ngina Drive in the island city of Mombasa.
The Coast Open, also known as Barry Cup, one of the oldest golf events in the country and the most popular tournament in the KAGC series (formerly Golfer of The Year), which marks its 99th year, is taking place exactly a week after the Limuru Open leg where Vet Lab Sports Club’s Robinson Owiti overcame a strong challenge from home players to lift the title.
Unlike last year’s event which saw 92 leading amateurs battle it out, only a field of 80 players was drawn for this weekend’s tournament which has attracted a battery of sponsors including title sponsors Resolution Insurance, Rex International and Car and General among many others.
