Man United legend’s ridiculous David Moyes point in full - 6 days ago, 12:53
Peter Schmeichel believes that if Manchester United “should have any regrets”, it is that they sacked David Moyes too soon.
United appointed Moyes in summer 2013 as Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement.
The former Everton manager lasted just 11 months in the post before being sacked in April 2014, with Ryan Giggs taking his place in the interim.
Louis van Gaal was then appointed in summer 2014 but he himself was removed for Jose Mourinho two years later.
The club have finally found some apparent stability under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s temporary guidance, the Norwegian appointed when Mourinho left the club in December.
United have won ten of their 11 games under Solskjaer, finally returning to the top four with a resounding win over Fulham on Saturday.
But Schmeichel believes the club’s problems have all stemmed from not giving Moyes, who lost 15 of his 51 games in charge of the reigning Premier League champions, enough time.
