Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki in trouble over alleged slur against women - 3 days ago, 13:44

Five major dailies in the country on Tuesday, February 12, reported on a number of developments taking shape in the political and social scenes.

The Swahili daily primed its report on a protest marshaled by women in Tharaka Nithi county against Governor Muthomi Njuki on Monday, February 11.

They alleged Njuki had increasingly become disrespectful to women and hurled insults at them whenever he wished.

The governor is alleged to had even likened Senator Kithure Kindiki to a woman because of the senator's soft voice.

Most recently, he told contractors seeking payment that their bills will be sorted by their mothers.

Njuki was also accused of calling the Tharaka Nithi women dirty.

During the protest, the women removed their underwear and dumped them outside the governor's office.
