Uhuru uncle’s business partner responds to reports his company pocketed millions in NYS heist

- Semelang'o and Uhuru's uncle supplied fuel to NYS and were allegedly KSh 68 million

- The two businessmen reportedly won tender through their oil company

- The multi-million fuel supply tender was originally awarded to another company

One of the tenderpreneurs whopart of the KSh 9 billion loot from the National Youth Service (NYS) has on Wednesday, June 13, insisted he is a clean man.

Youthful billionaire businessman Evans Gor Semelang'o supplied fuel to NYS and was reportedly paid KSh 68 million through Petrokenya Oil Company Limited.

The former Youth Fund boss co-owns the oil company with President Uhuru Kenyatta's uncle, Paul Gathecha Muhoho.

A report published by the Standard on Wednesday, June 13, indicated Petrokenya Oil Company Limited was to supply 500,000 litres of diesel to NYS.

Just few hours after media reports linked him to the alleged fraudulent and corrupt dealing, a visibly furious Semelang'o denied involvement in the disappearance of taxpayers money from NYS.

"Clean business. I borrowed money from bank to do business. Standard newspapers, stop spoiling people's name.Headline does not match content. Fake news. Integrity should be my middle name. My lawyers are studying the content. Newspaper is for meat wrapping," he posted.

Interestingly, the multi-million fuel supply tender was originally awarded to Horizon Limited , a company owned by Ben Gethi according to other reports seen by TUKO.co.ke.

Gethi was a key suspect in the phase one of NYS theft which first rocked the devolution ministry in 2015.

It's understood Petrokenya Oil Company kept its end of the bargain in the deal it had with Horizon Limited, but Gethi was unable to pay, forcing Gathecha and his business partner Semelang'o, who reportedly owns the majority share to sue.

A deadly legal battle ensued and Petrokenya Oil Company won.

It was settled that NYS should pay Gathecha and Semelang'o's oil company directly for the fuel supply.

Semelang'o was quoted by the Standard saying the business they did with NYS was above board and that their contract was with Horizon Limited not NYS which in nutshell suggested they only engaged NYS after Gethi's Horizon Limited failed to pay Petrokenya.

Semelang'o has threatened to sue the Standard for damages.
