2018 is here and we are all keeping busy trying to make more money, make better relationships, eat healthily or finally go back to school, whatever your goals are, we all have a good feeling about this year. One of the things we are looking forward to seeing are the hairstyles that will either be brought back or the new trends we will be too scared to try at first. Last year, many of us tried cornrows in all sizes and we could finally go the salon with anything between Kshs.200 – 1000 and leave with a perfect hairstyle (Sigh! We will miss 2017!). This year, the cornrow trend will continue but with a twist because the new hairstyle incorporates crotchet braids. The crochet style is not new to us but the way the cornrows and crotchets are used together is what makes the look something interesting. To achieve this look, big cornrows are braided all the way to the back then crotchet braids are sown in from the middle of the scalp all the way down to give the illusion of length. This look is perfect for the unpredictable Nairobi weather because it protects your hair from damage.
