Ring officials in the county for seminar NEVER MISS A STORY

Over 100 ring officials from across Africa are in the country for the World Boxing Council (WBC) seminar starting Thursday this week at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. WBC vice president Houcine Houichi, who is also the Africa Boxing Union (ABU) president said that the seminar will be conducted by top WBC ring officials Massimo Barroveccio and Glido Cavalleri. “This an important seminar for all the Arab, French and English speaking nations in Africa and I hope they will benefit immensely,” said Houichi, upon arrival in the country on Monday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. “We want to update them on the changing rules of boxing in judging, refereeing and supervision,” explained Houichi, who will also meet to sports ministry officials during the two-day seminar. Commonwealth Boxing Council (CBC) director Reuben Ndolo, who was at the airport to receive Houichi, said Kenya is bound to benefit what with WBC out to hold more seminars in the country. “Ring officials play a big role in the development of the sport and if they lag behind, the game will also be affected,” said Ndolo, who is a former Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) chairman.
