Fred Tonui, a medical lab technologist, is the latest millionaire in town after winning Sh31, 736,374 in last weekend’s SportPesa Mega Jackpot.

The father of five placed two bets and correctly predicted the outcome of 16 out of 17 games thereby bagging the fortune.

“I can’t believe that I have won this amount of money. I was following the games keenly as I always do and was pleasantly surprised when one of the bets seemed to be doing extremely well. By the time the message came in confirming that I had won the money, I was ecstatic!” the Londiani-based lucky winner said.

The married career man said he would remain in employment despite this windfall, as he has found a calling and a passion in what he does.

“I’ve worked at the Londiani Sub-County Hospital for almost 30 years now and I am not ready to leave yet. I love what I do and I’d like to continue my work, at least for now.”

While not an avid football fan, Tonui said he was supporting Germany to win the World Cup and would be happy to see Zoo Kericho perform well in the local SportPesa Premier League.

Besides Tonui, gamers who made 15 correct predictions got Ksh.380, 052 each; 14 correct predictions won KSh.45,606 each while those with 13 and 12 correct predictions got Ksh.10, 456 and Ksh.3, 268 respectively.
