Dear 20 Year Old Beauty, Stop Creating A Wedding With A Man You Don't Have! - ZUMI

Have you planned your wedding day, your wedding dress, decided how the man will come packaged and even gone as far as stating the year or how old you will be when you do? Please stop and throw away that plan. Here are reasons why: I am a firm believer in having a plan in life, but from someone who has been you before where I thought that in my twenties I will be married with already one kid and maybe on my second one now. Life has certainly shown me that what I wanted for myself would never have made sense with who I am becoming. My path in life has changed a lot and in all honesty, it would not have been a fair experience for my husband and kids. This understanding only came as I matured in age and began to really understand who I am, why I am on this earth and what I want to do. It took a while to get it, but now that I feel I am in line with who I meant to be, I am ok with things happening as God sees fit for my life. Who you were in your teens is not who you are now in your twenties and who you end up becoming in your thirties will change too. So let nature take its place and just enjoy living and experiencing what your twenties have to offer, regardless whether you end up getting married during that period or not. Weddings are currently a $300 billion industry and in 2016 it was reported that worldwide there were over 100,000 divorces. So when you are with someone and about to walk down the aisle, the question should be whether you are getting married to just have a wedding or whether you genuinely cannot envision life with anyone else. This, however, becomes clear the longer you allow yourself your relationship to grow organically to the point where marriage becomes the most viable step to take. Some people will get married early and some will not, some will have kids early and some will not and furthermore some might do neither. Stop comparing yourself to your nearly engaged friend and wishing that could be you, wanting what others have is what will end up defeating you and at times blocking you from recognising what is meant for you. Time has a beautiful way of showing us what really matters, so learn to trust that your story will be beautiful too and all will happen in a timely fashion.
