By: Nicole Kirui

Dreadlocks are trending right now and if you are not riding on this wave you better get on it as fast as you can. They are super easy to maintain and they look good. However, most of the times if not taken care of they tend to look messy and accumulate dirt just like any other hairstyle. We surely don’t want to walk around looking horrible. In addition to that if you are a new dread-head you might be confused about how to care for your hair. With information easily available on the internet, one might not know what’s good and what’s not good for their locs.

This totally hurts and will only damage your locs.

Alcohol-based products will dry out locs so please stay away from it!

Twisting your locs too much will thin your locs and no one wants that.

Do not use wax-based products as it attracts lint and build up.

Please stop using random products for your locs especially if you don’t know the ingredients. Always go for products with natural ingredients.

What are some of the things you swear not to do to your locs? Let us know
