Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) are in praise of Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana whom they rate as the only governor delivering on his election promises. Prof Kibwana has since re-election launched a milk processing plant and commissioned a mango processing plant in an attempt to boost farmers’ earnings in the county. On Wednesday, the governor announced that the Makueni Fruit Processing Plant engines had roared to life  to process this season’s mango harvest. Workers at the Makueni Fruit Processing Plant . PHOTO | COURTESY Two days later,  he launched the Kikima Dairy plant. The plant is set to process and pack 300 litres per hour and 6600 litres a day. For the mango processing plant, he said that over 72 Metric tonnes of mango fruits from Makueni farmers had so far been delivered to the factory. The plant will curb 40 per cent of post-harvest fruit waste that troubled farmers in the past. DRIEST Makueni County is among the driest parts of the country.
