Wenger expects Wilshere to get England recall

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims that the ‘vibes’ suggest that Jack Wilshere has earned an England recall. The Gunners midfielder has not played for England since Euro 2016 and has not been in a squad since November 2016. But he has started ten Premier League games this season and has re-established himself in the Arsenal first team. “The vibes I get are positive so I believe he has a good chance of being in there. But we have to leave that to Gareth Southgate,” said Wenger on Wednesday. His own Wilshere problem is persuading him to sign a new contract on reduced terms, with Everton said to be among the clubs willing to pay him more. “On my side, nothing has changed,” said Wenger. “I don’t know. Jack will be free at the end of the season. We make a proposal to him, I want him to stay and I hope he will do it.” Wenger wants Wilshere to stay but deal has stalled as the midfielder wants a pay rise. Both parties expect a deal to be reached but it’s more complicated than initially thought. #AFC — Football Journo (@TheFutbolJourno) March 14, 2018
