Eric Omondi’s brother Joseph Omondi, 40, has been laid to rest.

Joseph was buried yesterday, Friday  June 22, in Ugenya, Kisumu County after struggling with cocaine and substance abuse for 19 years.

“Ifikie vijana !!! Rest Well bro,” posted Eric alongside a video of a crowd at his sibling’s grave site.

He died on Tuesday the 19th just a few hours after his younger brother, Eric, tracked him down in Nairobi after a taxi driver spotted him along Nyandarua road.

In a video posted by the comedian, Joseph had been in and out of rehabilitation and even ran away from home in fear of going back to rehab.

In an exclusive interview with Hashtag, Eric suspected that a female cousin had introduced drugs to his brother.

“We had a cousin who was dating a white man. She is the one who we knew was using drugs. When Joseph started hanging out with her she must have introduced him to the vice” said Eric.

He warned fellow youth to stay away from drugs and seek help.

“This is not the last image I would have wanted to post of my brother... But this is definitely the image I want every young person in this Country to see!!! Joseph Onyango Omondi passed on this morning around 3am , barely 12 hours after I found him in Downton River Road. He was addicted to Cocaine and other substances and was in and out of Rehab for the past 19 years. May God himself take charge,’’ he wrote.

IFIKIE VIJANA!!! Rest Well bro????‍??????‍??????‍?? #IfikieVijana
