An intern by the name Bodo Kennedy, quit his Royal Media Services job after just 48 hours of work on Friday. Kennedy said that the job opportunity was beneath his expectation and a waste of his resources in a passionate letter to the Human Resources department. The dissatisfied intern said it was a matter of principle and professionalism that lead him to make the decision Royal Media Services was on the center stage on Friday January 12, following the dramatic resignation of an intern after just two days of work. Kennedy wrote a lengthy heartfelt resignation stating the reason for his abrupt departure after just 48 hours of working in the media house. The Editorial intern by the name Bodo Kennedy, felt he was not realising his full potential at RMS. In the letter seen by TUKO.co.ke, Kennedy said that he could not work in a job were he felt that only 10% of his desires were being fulfilled and longed for more professionalism. “I can't seat down the whole day posting two lines and making alerts and say I'm exercising my professionalism when I know I'm doing 10% of what I desire,” Kennedy said. Kennedy went on to point out that it would be against his principles, a move that some would consider quite honourable. "It would be an abuse to my principles to spend all my time and resources fully without reward as well," the intern went on. Kennedy felt let down and expected more following his experience in various internships in his earlier university years. “3rd year I joined KRA communication Dept as well unpaid intern but received promotion on my second day and was earning 36k plus other allowances just because of the services for four months,” he boasted. As is the case in most instances, students fresh off university would literally be off the roof in jubilations in getting an opportunity to gain experience in their field of expertise. Kennedy felt that he could do better and that it was an abuse of his time. “Then where I expect the most it's an abuse of my profession and time,” Kennedy wrote.
