Meat is a delicious base to any meal whether you roast it, sear it, or grill it. Apart from being tasty, it enriches us with healthy minerals and proteins. Meat is in different types; processed meat like bacon and sausage, white meat (poultry), conventional red meat, and organic meat. You can also decide to go the Kenyan way and slaughter yourself a full-grown heifer, ram or a goat. Ensure you prepare your meat hygienically and cook it thoroughly to prevent food-borne illnesses and to kill bacteria.

The ideal meat for roasting should be tender with fat. This is because the heat may dry the meat. You need cooking oil, an oven and finely cut pieces of meat. The whole roasting process is easy and you do not need to be an experienced chef to roast meat. Below is the preparation steps for one of the best Kenyan meat recipes for roasting.

Doing that will make the oven to be at a high temperature making your meat to be firm and crispy. You can preheat your oven as you prepare your meat to spend less time cooking. For those in need of a tender meat, you can preheat your oven to about 300 to 350 °F (Fahrenheit). Yes, it will take you more time to preheat, but the wait is worth it.

Oil your meat before placing it on the oven-baking pan. In this way, your meat will remain tender and it will not stick to the pan. Note that you should not open the oven door when cooking because heat will escape and the meat will take longer to cook.

For you to know that your meat is ready, it should have a safe temperature throughout. Note that small pieces will take fewer minutes than large pieces. For instance, steaks will take about 20 minutes, chicken breasts about 30 minutes, and pork about 20 minutes. You can check your meat in the oven after every 20 minutes.

You need to dice your meat into pieces, though you should not do it immediately. This is because the meat can get dry. Give it at least 5 minutes of resting on the baking pan, cut it, and enjoy your tasty meat.

For you to enjoy your grill meat, then opt to cook lean and flat cuts. If you use meat with extra fat, the fat will definitely drip causing flames resulting to a blacken meat.
