lthough the announcement has caused many reactions, with a number of betting companies choosing to stop their sponsorship activites and others considering halting country operations, Betway is keeping the fire burning as “Betway Gives Back” comes to a close. The firm recently announced its winner of their holiday promotion that ran in December 2017. The campaign required participants to place at least 2 Both Teams to Score bets on the English Premier League between 22 and 23 December 2017. The win included Sh150,000 to a charity of the winner’s choice and a mystery prize. 35-year- old David Gikunda Kuura, a police officer from Karuri, Kiambu County walked away with the grand prize which he has donated to Macheo Children’s Home in Thika town as the charity of his choice. Despite the uncertain future of the gaming industry in the country, Betway is standing firm in their outreach efforts and operating in the country. Macheo provides fulltime family-oriented care at the Children’s Home, nutritional meals at schools to increase attendance, healthcare information and medical care to families in need and educational seminars to empower families and their communities. With Betway’s generous donation, David will now be able to support the children’s home and impact them for good. One of Betway’s core values is society building, this was the basis of the month-long promotion.
