Migori Governor Okoth Obado is currently at the Milimani High Court for his bail hearing.

His co-accused Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero are also in the dock.

On October 8, the trio pleaded not guilty to the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

Obado was arrested September 21 and is facing charges of aiding and abetting murder.

The trio are also facing a fresh count of murder after the court allowed the prosecution to amend the charge sheet to include the murder of Sharon Otieno’s baby

Obado was moved to the Kenyatta National Hospital on October 4 after he complained of pain from from cervical spondylosis.

The condition affects the joints and discs in cervical spine located at the neck.

On October 8, Judge Lessit directed that Obado and his co-accused be detained at Industrial Area Remand Prison.

Sharon, 26, was found dead two days after she was abducted alongside Nation journalist Barrack Oduor who reportedly jumped out of a moving vehicle to save his life.
