TUKO.co.ke on Thursday, November 8, established Ruto had found new friends who were ready to work with him to win over some if not all of Raila's die-hard supporters in Nyanza.
Among the Luo politicians who are understood to have joined the DP's camp are Migori governor Zachary Okoth Obado Migori, Karachuonyo MP Adipo Kuome, former lawmakers Martin Ogindo, James Rege, Edick Anyanga and Agostinho Neto.
Ruto was accompanies by Obado and several other politicians from the Nyanza regionwhen he visited Migori and Homa Bay counties between November 5 and November 6 and during which he launched a number of projects.
The DP and the governor, who is currently in connection with the killing of Rongo University 26-year-old student Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby, appeared to had become close friends during the Nyanza tour.
TUKO.co.ke understands Obado has always been Ruto's man and there friendship dates way back to 2013 when the governor vied on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) party ticket and beat ODM candidate.
He, however, later decamped back to ODM party in 2017 and managed to defend his seat by beating Ochilo Ayacko.
Interestingly, Obado campaigned against ODM's senatorial candidate, Ayacko, during the Migori County senatorial by-election.
Could he be planning to ditch ODM for Jubilee before 2022? Only time will tell, by so far indications are that the governor is closer to Ruto than his party leader Raila Odinga.
