Paralympic Snowboarder Brenna Huckaby Dedicated Her Gold Medal to Her Little Girl

Snowboarder Brenna Huckaby began her first Paralympics Games by taking home the gold for the women’s snowboard-cross. Huckaby had her 2-year-old daughter Lilah on her mind the entire time.   Huckaby, who battled cancer as a teen and had to have her right leg amputated, dedicated her performance to Lilah. She also hoped that it would send a powerful message to her L.O. Time to get back to Mommy hood and snowboarding as we gear up for South Korea. The Paralympics are held at the same venue as the Olympics, we are just two weeks after! We will have our own opening and closing ceremonies and the hype is just as big. I compete in snowboard cross and banked slalom! I am in LL1 classification which is made up of women with above the knee amputations, double below the knee amputations, and MS. It was hard today, but I just reminded myself why I do this and it’s for her and that helped.” She also said of the experience in Pyeongchang: “It was such a trying and intense day and to be able to walk away successful is huge."
