Nairobi's hottest matatu: Lunga Lunga goes Platinum

By: Pkemoi Ng’enoh

For years, Nairobians living in Lunga and off Likoni Road have been forced to trek all the way to Muthurwa Market for a mathree to town.

But things have changed and they now have a reason to smile after a new mathree dubbed, Platinum hit the route.

The mathree’s bold pink colour and graffiti are outstanding. It has a powerful sound system, 52-inch main screen and two 19-inch screens strategically located to entertain passengers.

This nganya’s crew comprise Warui, Karanja and driver Gitau.

“It has been received well because it’s different from the outdated mathrees on the route. This is what we have been waiting for. Everything about this nganya is cool,” Grace, one of Ma3 Culture’s fan said.
