Mourinho defends ear-cupped celebration following Juventus game

Jose Mourinho has defended his antics after Man United beat Juventus 2-1 in Turin.
The Red Devils scored two late goals in the Champions League encounter – a Juan Mata free-kick and a Paul Pogba header – to seal all three points against the Italians, after Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring with a belting volley.
But Mourinho decided to twist the knife in further. He taunted the home crowd with an ear-cupped celebration after the match.
But the Man United boss has now defended his actions.
He said after the 2-1 win. “I didn’t offend anyone at the end, I just made a gesture that I wanted to hear them louder. I probably shouldn’t have done it, and with a cool head I wouldn’t have done it, but with my family insulted, including my Inter family, I reacted like this.”
He played down the idea that he insulted the Old Lady supporters.
“I didn’t insult them. I just did a little thing. I respect Juventus, their players and their manager. As a coach of Man United, I have to forget my former jobs. They (Juventus fans) were the ones who didn’t forget. I have come here as a professional.”
