An 18-year-old woman has said her boyfriend assaulted her for getting pregnant, claiming that they had not planned for it. The accused, Paul Munialo 22, was charged alongside Esther Nandala (his new catch), who is said to have joined Munialo in beating Sharon Nelima on April 1, within Eastleigh area of Nairobi around 7pm. “The complainant (Nelima) left her workplace as usual and went home that evening and when she arrived home she found the door was locked from inside prompting her to knock several times in vain,” read the charge sheet. It went on: “She (Nelima) was forced to peep through the window only to see Munialo caressing Nandala on the sofa-set.” She is said to have shouted at them, but Munialo appeared undeterred and shouted back at her telling she was careless for getting pregnant. “The first accused (Munialo) told Nelima to leave him alone to enjoy his peace because he had found a new lady who would be in charge of his home as a wife,” read the particulars. According to police, Nelima continued knocking the door in an attempt to smoke out the lovers. Munialo bolted out in anger and started kicking and punching her. Minutes later, i t is claimed, Nandala joined Munialo in the assault, armed with a knife threatening to kill Nelima. Neighbours who were watching from a distance intervened and rescued Nelima then rushed her for treatment before calling in police. The two were arrested the following day only for police officers to realise that they also lacked valid identification. The case will be mentioned on April 25 where police are expected to brief the court of the suspects’ true nationalities.  Meanwhile, Shanzu court odered Joseph Kitsao to remain in prison remand until his cases are heard and determined. Kitsao was charged with pretending to be a Kenya Defence Forces officer in position to help young men join the forces at a fee. On the March 5, the court heard, Kitsao - who is jointly charged with others who did not appear before the court - obtained Sh 150,000 from Halima Uchi by falsely pretending to be in a position to employ them at the Kenya Defence Forces. He was also charged with falsely presenting himself as a lieutenant in the force. He denied all charges. The magistrate denied the accused bond since he had previous cases on the same issue. He was told to remain in custody until all the six witnesses have testified and the accusations proven guilty or not. His case will be mentioned on April 20.
