Man charged for defrauding anchor Eric Njoka of Sh 850, 000

A city business man has been charged in court for defrauding news anchor Eric Njoka of Sh 850,000 while masquerading as a car dealer. Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruyiot, Gaspae Omondi Kwedho was accused for claiming he could sell Eric a Toyota Mark X car but in reality he was not in a position to do so. Gaspae and his accomplices met Eric at DSM place along Kijabe Street, to discuss the sale on 30th December. The anchor realized he was being conned and alerted the police before the deal was terminated. The 30-year-old denied the charges and was released on a Sh200, 000 cash bail. The matter is to be mentioned on February 26th 2018 and heard on 12th March 2018.
