MPs have passed 8 percent VAT on fuel products proposed by President Uhuru Kenyatta amid a walkout of members opposed to the new tax measures.
When deliberations started, several MPs walked out of the National Assembly chamber prompting the chairman of the Committee on the Whole House Soipan Tuya to order a recount to establish quorum.
The head count revealed there were 215 MPs hence voting could start.
