Kisumu County Assembly turned into a war ground when members exchanged blows and kicks following a disagreement on whether to impeach two senior officials.
Hell broke loose when the Chief Whip in Governor Anyang Nyong'o's administration, Gard Olima, tabled two notices on motion to impeach the County Executive Committee (CEC) member for Finance and the CEC for Planning.
In a viral video shared on Facebook and seen by TUKO.co.ke, four out of the total 48 MCAs stood their ground in support of the CEC for Finance and bravery faced their opponents in a fierce scuffle.
The contentious motion caused divisions in the house with a section opposed to it while others supported the debate.
A section of Ward Representatives accused Olima of hoodwinking them and going against their wish to include the Planning officer in the list of officers set to be axed.
Pamela Odhiambo, the MCA for Manyatta B ward, disclosed report which were in circulation alleging the House was also warming up to table a motion to oust Nyong'o'.
The verbal exchange escalated as the legislatures traded accusations including plots to bring down Nyong'o's administration.
The incident culminated into a bitter exchange in which Kondele and Migosi MCAs Joachim Oketch and Victor Rodgers resorted to fist fights.
