Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is a man who earned the reputation of being a ruffian student leader at University of Nairobi who was unafraid to speak his mind, however disagreable. And he quickly transferred this reputation to parliament where he got involved in an embarrassing fistfight with fellow first time Starehe MP Charles Njagua commonly known as Jaguar. The abusive, intolerant posts have been replaced by inspirational quotes and motivational messages. Speaking to Nairobi News in a telephone interview, Babu admits to have turned a new leaf and now wants to be the leader his constituents voted for. To some people I have always been the leader who reacts the most in different situations, some might even call me a drama queen,” he said. “But I have decided that I have to now become the leader that the people of Embakasi East want me to be. To champion on matters affecting the youth of our country.” He jokingly added that he is considering becoming a motivational speaker. We wish him godspeed.
