Steven Gerrard has reportedly made preliminary enquires over the possibility of bring Dominic Solanke and Jermain Defoe to Rangers.
The Daily Record claims new Gers boss is keen to strengthen his strikeforce by signing former England striker Defoe on a permanent deal and Liverpool forward Solanke on loan.
Defoe, 35, has two years still to run on his contract at Bournemouth and the Cherries are understood to be confident of keeping the centre-forward who was restricted to only 11 Premier League starts last season.
Solanke’s involvement was limited to five starts in the Premier League, with the 20-year-old scoring his first goal for the club on the final day of the season. Gerrard reportedly hopes his contacts at Liverpool could help secure a loan deal for the former Chelsea starlet.
Gerrard has also been linked with loan moves for former team-mates Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel.
Rangers have already strengthen their squad for next season with the signings of Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor.
