- They were given a customized dressing room with a label saying 'Eagles don land'
- The Eagles will open their Group D opening campaign against Croatia on Saturday, June 16
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have once again stolen the show in Russia as their dressing room has been customized in pidgin English.
The three-time African champions have already made an impression going into the World Cup with their superb jersey and their travel attire.
Coach Gernot Rohr’s men will be kicking off their campaign against Croatia on Saturday, June 16, before battling Iceland and Argentina late this month.
They will also be hoping that they can reach the quarterfinals for the first time to break the jinx of their round of 16 record.
Nigeria landed in Russia late on Monday night, June 11 and they were well received by teeming fans who patiently waited despite their late arrival.
The team had their first training session on Tuesday, but their two training sessions on Wednesday, June 13 will be mostly behind closed doors as the manager is putting final touches to his strategies for the tourney.
The Super Eagles kickoff their Group D opening campaign against top European side Croatia at the Kaliningrad Stadium at 8pm.
The three-time African champions have been placed in joint-19th position with a 1.5 per cent chance of winning this year’s edition of the competition.
