Actress Gabrielle Union and NBA star husband welcome daughter

American actress Gabrielle Union and her husband, NBA player Dwyane Wade, announced the arrival of their daughter Thursday, a day after she was born via a surrogate.

"We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days. Welcome to the party sweet girl,” they both posted on their Twitter accounts.

The elated couple shared pictures on Twitter of them holding their daughter, while fans congratulated them on social media.

The baby is Gabrielle's first child and Dwyane's fourth.

Gabrielle has been open about her fertility struggles –miscarriages she has had and her struggle to have a baby.

Gabrielle began her acting career in the 1990s appearing on television sitcoms, and has played major roles since then in movies such as Bring It On, Think Like A Man and Bad Boys II.

She also stars in the thriller Breaking In about a woman trying to save her children from people who have broken into her late father’s house looking for money. The movie was released this year.

Gabrielle has also written a memoir – We are Going to Need More Wine – which was released in October 2017.

The British citizen is an actor and a singer.
