Nigerian born singer, songwriter Yemi Alade was in the country over the past weekend for the 21st edition of Koroga Festival, The queens’ edition. The show featured two other Kenyan artists including Sage and Mercy Masika. True to her entertaining and performer nature, Yemi wowed the crowd with her vocals supported by her able Ovasabi live band. Even after performing for close to two hours, the crowd wanted more which she gave a generous 25 minutes. In a humble brag, she shared her excitement to over 3.4 million followers on her Instagram, saying, “female artists cannot sell out venues!" As much as I hate to blow my horn or wear my "little" accomplishments like a badge, I just want to use this opportunity to thank music lovers, influencers and show organisers that take a chance on female artistry! "Yesterday in Nairobi Kenya, at the prestigious #korogafestival, was an attendance of over 20,000people from different walks of life.I headlined this concert alongside 2 other amazing supporting female artists, the MC was female, as well as the DJ and I still can't believe it but we made history. (#femmeFatale)” Yemi went on to further announce that her Europe tour will commence mid-April. In the spirit of supporting the female artist she shout out Victoria Kimani who is currently doing her Kenyan tour.
